RELEASE 25.8

Historical Background

The Treaty of Versailles strictly limited the weight of ships that could be assigned to the German navy, but Germany was still free to build any ships it wanted for other countries. For example, until the early 1930s, the option of completing the battleship Salamis for Greece was considered. After the end of World War I, Germany had a large number of unfinished ships, ranging from battleships to minesweepers. Some of these were completed and sold abroad.

Bernadotte is armed with twelve 305mm guns in four turrets with a fast traverse speed and a good rate of fire for its class, especially when considering the Main Battery Reload Booster consumable. The main gun's drawbacks include short firing range and light salvo weight. The ship also has four twin-tube torpedo launchers positioned closer to the stern. Its torpedoes have a decent reload time and inflict significant damage, but have a short range and are easily detectable.

Gameplay

In terms of gameplay, some features of another Tier IX battleship, Prinz Rupprecht, are already evident. The main one is a long-range and accurate secondary battery (although the range of the secondary battery has always been a hallmark of French battleships). Thus, a powerful secondary battery, low ship detection, the presence of torpedoes, and limited firing range will encourage players to engage in close combat with opponents. "Engine Boost," a characteristic feature of French battleships, is also present. Another advantage is the long firing range of the anti-aircraft guns, while the disadvantage is the limited HP pool.

In addition to the "engine boost" and "gun reload booster" teams, the equipment is also represented by the "Emergency" and "Repair" teams.
