This cruiser is an improved version of
the Atago. Its main armament still consists of five twin turrets with 203mm
guns, but its torpedo armament has been upgraded, with a range of 20 km.
However, to avoid excessive destructive power, its torpedo tubes are now twin
tubes.
The Chokai has good maneuverability,
allowing it to easily evade enemy fire, and if the ship takes damage, the
Repair Party will restore most of its HP, including in the citadel.
The ship's equipment offers the
versatility typical of a cruiser. The ship's armament includes "Damage
Control Party" and "Repair Party," as well as a choice of
"Hydroacoustic Search" or "Defensive Anti-Aircraft Fire";
"Spotting Aircraft" or "Fighter."
Trial Gameplay
This ship differs from the Atago's
playstyle. In my opinion, this ship is more comfortable due to its very long
firing range and torpedo range, but you must be careful not to broadside
carelessly if you don't want to return to port. Also, the specialized repair
party consumable is very helpful for restoring a lot of HP. In conclusion, this
is a stronger and simpler version of the Atago with a more relaxed playstyle.
